Voltage transients on a power supply bus result from excessive fluctuations in prime power source voltage, loss of integral voltage regulation, maladjustment, series regulator faults, etc. The new LVC Series sense when a DC over voltage occurs and switches rapidly from an “open” to a virtual “short” circuit. Any potentially destructive energy from resultant transients is now provided with a very low resistance path around sensitive components such as ICs, transistors, etc. The crowbar will automatically reset when the current is removed.
CB08 Series
The MCG CB08 crowbar line addresses the need to protect low voltage microelectronics from damaging over voltage events, usually caused by failing power supply regulation. Reacting to an over voltage in just microseconds, the unit protects even the most sensitive circuits from damage. The CB08 series is avail-able in wide range of standard trip voltages. They are epoxy encapsulated with a small footprint and a low-profile for easy OEM application.

LVC series
The LVC Series senses damaging over voltages and rapidly switches to a virtual short circuit. This offers a very low resistance path around sensitive equipment loads. The crowbars automatically resets when the source is shut off. Clamping crowbars, other trip voltages and Mil Spec also available, consult factory.
